Universal Downloader

Post by Dr2thmuvr » Wed Mar 20, 2013 17:06

I have been diving the last few days. Each day I have downloaded my data, from my Atom 2.0 dive computer, with the universal downloader with success. Last night I updated to DL 5.0.9 from DL 5.0.8. After todays dives I am getting an error on downloading: "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit the application will close immediately" Any suggestions??

Can you post the entire error message? Normally it should tell where the exception occurred.

Hi Jef

We're already in contact via email. This is the error message:

Code: Select all

************** Exception Text **************
System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
at Divinglog.Download.Libdivecomputer.dc_device_foreach(IntPtr device, dive_callback callback, IntPtr userdata)

   at System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.OnDoWork(DoWorkEventArgs e)
   at System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.WorkerThreadStart(Object
argument)
It happens right at the beginning. Do you have an idea or could run the Atom 2.0 in the simulator?

I am getting the same error with my Oceanic Atom 3.0 also after updating to ver 5.0.9. Running Windows 7 Professional SP1. Update into Oceanic Oceanlog works fine. Error is:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Hi everyone

Sorry about that problem! Could you please try this update:

http://www.scuba-divelog.com/dl50/Divelog2.zip

Extract that file into the Diving Log program folder (this is not a setup, just unzip it into the Diving Log folder). Then try the download again and let me know if that works.

Thank you,
Sven

That seems to have fixed it. I also had the problem with a Vyper Air.

Thank you Roger, great to hear that it works! Has anyone else tested it yet? This is a bug that does not happen every time, so a few more confirmations would be great.

Works with my Wisdom 3, however it still doesn't import the NDL profile that works nicely when importing from the Sherwood .dlg file.
Many thanks,

Fernando
