Well, I have almost given up hope on my webhost.
Tried both the config files (knowing the OS is linux) but both don't work, while both DO work in my home environment (IIS).

Also I have anoher webhost (at this time with very little webspace) at which the scripts do produce the graph, so I am now considering upgrading my webspace at my other webhost.

As far as I found there's no write permission needed as far as the use cache setting isn't enabled.
To make everything more strange..... I have downloaded the JPGraph package from their website and those examples do prodcue graphs on the same host..... Haven't been able to figure out what to change to make it work on phpdivinglog though.

I had to make some changes to the file jpg-config.inc in a previous release of phpDivingLog to get the graph drawn. Maybe you have to adjust here the path of the CACHE_DIR variable.

Hi Lloyd,

Are you working on an update for phpdivinglog? I'm working on better integration with Wordpress for my plugin and I'd like to know whether you are working on an update so I can use that update for mine.

You mentioned opening a project on sourceforge. Have you done that? I'd like to help when you need it.

Regards,

Sebastiaan

G'day Sebastiaan,

I haven't had time of late to work on phpDivingLog. There is still plenty I want to do with it though, and I will look at a way to set it up so that others can contribute as well.

Best Regards, Lloyd Borrett.

I've released an update for my wordpress plugin. It's just a minor update but it is now possible to upload the sql file made by Divinglog to the database from the administration menu of Wordpress. So no need anymore for using phpmyadmin or the like.

Link to my website for downloading.

G'day,

While updating my logbook, I noticed a few problems in phpDivingLog. While I was fixing the code, I also made some other changes, mostly to the Diving Statistics page. See http://www.borrett.id.au/divelog/divestats.php.

Changes v1.9 - 2007-03-07 - Lloyd Borrett (http://www.borrett.id.au)
Added in support for a configurable table prefix.
Added dive max depth table in Dive Statistics.
Added drift, deep, cave, wreck and photo dive details in Dive Statistics.
Added saltwater, freshwater and brackish dive details in Dive Statistics.
Added repetitive and deco dive details in Dive Statistics.
Added percentage values to shore, boat and night dives in Dive Statistics.
Fixed display of Total Bottom Time in Dive Statistics.
Fixed display of Rep Dive and Deco in Dive Log.

Instead of releasing this version as it currently is, I'd like to first add in support for some of the other changes that have been requested.

Sven, you added in a table_prefix for MySQL Export. So I've added the line...

Code: Select all

$_config['table_prefix'] = "";
to the phpDivingLog config.inc.php file. That value is now passed through to the the SQL files used by phpDivingLog to store SQL commands.

There have been quite a few changes to the english language file, so I'll need to get the other language files in sync with it.

Are there any other problems people have been having with phpDivingLog that I should look at before preparing the new release?

Best Regards, Lloyd Borrett.

At the moment I have some spare time left, so I would like to help at phpdivinglog. I'm quite experienced in php and mysql.

Things I wanted to start with:
- Change to a template system
- make photo uploading more easy

For this it's the best that I have the latest version. Can you send it to me rob AT bsdfreaks.nl ?

I will then add the code to a svn server, to make developing more easy.

Hope to hear something.

PHPdivinglog update to template system

Post by Inferno »

Did not got a response form Lloyd on my e-mail to him. So I started work on phpdivinglog
Things I have done:

- I converted 90% of the code to a template based system. So I removed all the echo's from the php code. So it's now very easy to change the layout without touching the php files.
- Imported the code into subversion control:
here you can view the code online http://rob.lensen.nu/WebSVN/

To test this install you can download the tarball via WebSVN http://rob.lensen.nu/WebSVN/listing.php ... h=%2F&sc=0
Or check out the code via subversion:
#svn co http://rob.lensen.nu/svn/phpdivinglog

I hope I get the changes from 1.8 to 1.9 from Lloyd, so I can implement them.

Some TODO's I will start with:
# More template fixes
# Move the dive certification details out of the 'dive statistics' page and create a new 'user information' page.
# Make the details displayed on the 'user information' page configurable.
# Create a 'dive buddies' page, again making the details displayed configurable.
# Add pages to display the country and city/island details.
# Add back in support for RTF logbook comments.
# Make displaying the depth units in the dive profile configurable (i.e. metric, imperial or both).
# Support the user defined values for the logbook entries.

G'day,

I apologise for not having responded sooner on phpDivingLog v.9.

I haven't found time to make the additional changes to this version that I was considering. I've been very busy with work, plus going diving. I've also become more active helping the Victorian Artificial Reefs Society (VARS) to secure, prepare and sink the ex HMAS Canberra warship as an artificial reef and wreck dive site in the temperate waters of Victoria, Australia. I even built two web sites for VARS, see http://www.hmascanberra.com.au and http://www.vars.org.au. I've also become the secretary for a new diving club we're getting going on the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The Bass Strait Aquatic Club is a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Group, and I'm in the process of building the club's web site, see http://www.bsac.org.au.

I welcome a CVS being created for phpDivingLog so that more people can become involved in the development process.

I have made my current version of phpDivingLog v.9 available for download on my web site at http://www.borrett.id.au/interests/phpdivinglog.htm.

PLEASE NOTE: Only the English language file is currently up-to-date for v.9. As the other contributors pass on v.9 language files, I will update the download file.

Best Regards, Lloyd Borrett.

This are even better things then coding, when I come back to australia I will certainly try diving in Vicotria. I went to the same sites on GBR as you according you log :)

G'day,

No there weren't many changes. I spent time try ing get the RTF conversion working, but didn't make any progress. I also looked at adding in a different way to handle dive site Google Maps, but didn't get very far.

I had been thinking it would make sense to set up phpDivingLog as a project on SourceForge. Is that something you could do?

I wanted to try RTF conversion, however the mysql dump doesn't work when the convert to RTF is checked in divinglog

Same thing I wanted to do

If people prefer sf.net I will setup a sf.net site, however I prefer using my own subversion server which is also accessable by everyone (since at the moment it is just me contributing).

I have my own colocated web server (dual xeon 2.8 and 2gb ram), so it is also possible to setup a separated webpage at phpdivinglog.org ( I can register it for almost nothing).

I prefer the last option, but maybe you have another opinion, just let me know.

Hi Lloyd, hi Inferno!

I would like to contribute to this project.
I already did change some things for my own site, but it would be easier, if changes were made at a central repository.

Whether that would be sf.net or a private server is irrelevant for me.

I already configured my SVN client to get the files from your server, but at the moment it seems that one needs a password to update those files. :)

Could you provide me with the access data, please. :)

Thank you.
