Check for updates fails

Post by wvd_vegt »

Hi,

The check for updates fails at my computer with a error that PPCBrowser.ocx isn't correctly installed. (Latest 4.05 version installed)

Trying to register the ocx manually failed so I inspected the ocx with Depends and found that it complains about Rapi.dll being used by the ocx (it's linked hard to it) and that dll isn't present on my machine.

As Rapi.dll is a part of ActiveSync everybody who doesn't have it installed will probably run into problems like me. After chosing the Check for Updates message, Diving Log crashes when the error dialog isn't closed.

Hi Wim

Thank you for this hint, I'll release a minor update after my vacation where this will be fixed.

Best regards,

The Update Check bug is fixed, you can download here a minor update:

English
German

Extract the zip file into the Diving Log program folder and replace the old file. At the moment the online update check don't show this minor update because VB doesn't allow a fourth version number (4.0.5.1). So maybe I'll call these minor updates in future 4.0.51 or something like that.

No, not at the moment. But you can click on the download link in the lower left corner of the window to get directly to the download website.
