What Import Function of Diving Log do you use?

Post by divinglog »

I would like to know which kind of import function in Diving Log you use to get your dive computer data into Diving Log. This will help me to improve these functions. If you have any comments regarding the import, you can post it below this poll. :)

Edit: Please make sure to select an option above to vote even if you write a comment. This makes it more clear.

Being an oceanic dive computer owner, i would be HUGELY in your debt if you were able to work out a way to download directly from my oceanic Veo180 so that i could do away with oceanlog altogether, i know my missus would appreciate it too, along with another hand full of other oceanic users i know... probably asking too much, but really, oceanlog is far from good software...

great job Sven...

If the Direct download from a Suunto Computer works flawlessly I will use it, otherwise i'm using the import function for sdm1 or 2.

posted a bug for sdm import here, viewtopic.php?t=261

I use the Uwatec Aladin download facility.

Really like the program - great job.

A couple of ideas:
Would like a section to save details of dive operators I have dived with - name address, sites, pictures - rate them etc.
Basic web interface to display divelog - cgi or php interface.

G'day Sven,

I transferred my initial dives from my partners Unwatec Smart PRO dive computer.

Now I'm using the Suunto Dive Manager 2 option to transfer dives from my Vytec DS dive computer.

I can't try using the Suunto download option on the computer I have Diving Log running on, as that computer has something conflicting with the Suunto USB driver software.

I think MS ActiveSync 4.1 stops it from being able to allocate a comms posrt. I haven't been able to work out how to just dissable and enable ActiveSync.

Best Regards, Lloyd Borrett.

Hi Lloyd

You can disable ActiveSync using the COM port when you open ActiveSync and then click on File > Connection Settings (I'm not sure if this is the name in the english version). Then you can uncheck the 3rd checkbox so that the COM dropdown is disabled. Now you can see all COM ports in other programs.

But the Suunto Download in Diving Log is currently Beta status, so you maybe get an Error message. I'm working on this.

OceanLog...I'd love to see an USB transfer for the VT3, but even with just the import, I much prefer Diving Log to OceanLog and Suunto Log.
