Hi Sven,

Perhaps you already know about this library. I think it can help you a great deal to get the downloader on android working with more dive computers.

What do you think?

Thanks in advance for you reply

Hi Danny

Yes, I'm using libdivecomputer in Diving Log 6.0 on Windows and also planning to use it on Android. But I need some special wrapper code on Android, because libdc is native code and I'm developing in managed code, so there is still some work to do to get it running.

Kind regards,
Sven

Hi Danny

A first alpha test version is now available. If you want you can try it and please let me know if it works:

https://play.google.com/apps/testing/co ... og.divelog

I would also need your Google Play email address to add you to the list of testers.

Kind regards,
Sven

Hi Danny

Thank you for testing, I've added you to the list of alpha testers on Google Play. You should receive the new version 3.6.x soon via Google Play. Please let me know which dive computer you've tested and if it works or not. If it does not work, tap the "Gear" icon in the upper right corner and activate "Log Errors" and send me the error log.

Thank you,
Sven

Hi Sven,

How soon is soon :-)
Can not download the alpha version by Google Play Store.

I will test with a Ratio iXM3 Tech+ on a Samsung Galaxy S8.

Danny

Hi Danny

I don't know, the Google Play Alpha test seem to be a bit slow pushing out the updates, so I've moved it now to the public beta test channel. So hopefully you should receive it today, if not, let me know

Kind regards,
Sven

No, I didn't receive anything. Have you sent an error log?

Hi sven,

Yes send you four times a crash log by google.
can't send you with the app due the crash and restart of the app.

Or is there a place on my device where you write these logs?

Cheers

Hi Danny

Ah, the app crashes? OK, I found some crash logs in the Google Play console. I'll look into this. Can you tell me when/how it crashs? Right at the start or does it download some time and then crashes?

Please activate also "Log Errors", after the crash you may find a *.txt file in the Diving Log folder in the internal storage of your phone which you can send me.

Thank you,
Sven

Hi Sven,

It's trying to download and shows 1, 2 and after that is crash and restart the app. Can make a movie of it, if you want.
I have found a log on the internal storage of my tablet (samsung Galaxy Tab S2) which i have attached to this reaction.

Hopefully this helps.

Cheers,
Danny

Hi Danny

Thank you! Yes, this matches the crash logs you've sent. The download works, but it crashes when the data is parsed. I will add some additional diagnostics to the parser to track this down a little bit. Please send me the txt file again once you have the next update.

Thank you,
Sven
