Android

Post by ddrossel »

Are there any plans to make a version of mobile Diving Log for use on Android phones? I have the iPhone version and like it very much, however I am considering purchasing a new phone with Android and would like to have the software on the new phone.

I don't have the time at the moment, but a Diving Log user is currently considering to develop an Android version. But this is really a lot of work, so even if he is able to create one, it will take some time.

No, I'm sorry. I've heard nothing about this recently.

Hi, I am developing the Android DiveLog (which you can get from the Android Market). It already has a nice set of features, and I would be happy to see if data exchange with Diving Log would be possible. However keep in mind that I am developing the application in my spare time :-) Let me know.

Hi

Thank you for posting here! I think that would be a great feature for Diving Log users as I'm getting recently many requests for Android. I think we can start with an export in Diving Log which creates a logbook for your Android Dive Log. It would be great if you can email me (info@divinglog.de) a logbook file with some sample dives from your app.

Kind regards,
Sven

Hi guys,

I am a happy user of diving log 4.0 and now 5.0
given I recently got an android phone I am interested in the ability to export /import from the android phone

As far as i can see it shouldl beposible to write a android phone backup file.
and read from a backup file

I can live with not all the fields being transfered due to unavailability in on of the two apps, but as far as I can see there is over 80% match.

If no action is taken I can send a copy of my little log

Petrus

<edit> I did see that rob the android developer has brought out a new version and already has done some prework. Can't wait to see the final result

Hi Petrus

The export to Android is already finished. If you want, you can download a beta version here:

Full Setup:
http://www.scuba-divelog.com/dl50/Divelog50.exe

Update Setup from Version 5.0.0:
http://www.scuba-divelog.com/dl50/Divelog50Upd.exe

You can find it in the export menu in the sidebar. Please let me know how it works.

Kind regards,
Sven

I can confirm it work,

been able to download my log book to the android.
I'm very happy with that,

I'll do some further testing with some entries with "strange" entires like walls of text and certain selections if they get passed but so far both of you have done a great job

thanks,

Pete
