Characters Stripped From Comments

Post by lloyd_borrett »

G'day,

On transferring the comments from Diving Log on the PC to the Pocket PC, it seems certain characters are stripped out of the comments, and I assum, other text fields.

For example, "they're" becomes "theyre".

Could you please look at some way of escaping these characters so that they are transferred in a future version.

Best Regards, Lloyd Borrett.

Hi Lloyd

I just checked this with "You're" without problems. Have you pressed the "Only Textformat" button for the comments in the desktop version?

Have anyone else the same problem?

Sorry Sven, my mistake.

It's on transfer to the MySQL database that this is happening. And I guess that is also because the ' character is used as the text delimiter in MySQL Dump.

It would be nice if you could come up with a way around this in the next version.

Best Regards, Lloyd Borrett.

Ah, yes this is the same thing as with the corrdinates, I must check how MySQL Admin exports the (') characters.

(I'll move later on this thread to the General section)
