I'm sorry if this question is stupid but this is my first time trying out Diving Log 4.0 to download the dive logs from my Suunto D9.
Unfortunately I get an error number: 15 every time I choose Suunto Dive Computer. I have verified the connection is correct at Com6 from my system settings.
Please advise. Thank you.

Yes, you need to update the Suunto downloader to support the D9. Go to http://liquidimagephoto.com/ and click on "Suunto Tools" on the left side. Download the "Suunto Downloader V 2.9.5 build 8" zip file and extract it into the Diving Log program folder. Then it should work.

Not really - I've never used Vista. And if all goes well I never will. That is one overblown POS from Micro$haft. It would be better if you could spec a different Opsys when you buy a new box.
I need that file to help deduce the trouble. Do you know any one with XP that you could test on? I don't even know if Vista will let my app write the file.
[edit] And that was the problem, vista has a 'protection' scheme that prevents writing to the root directory. I have revised build on the site.
But it also has an experimental Com routine. please try it. The CDBLOG.txt file will be in C:\CDBLOG\CDBLOG.txt but YOU must create the directory the program won't [/edit]

I considered that, Sven, but I don't want to get too tricky with the file, divinglog wrote:James, I suggest you write the logfile into the folder of the SuuntoXML.exe file, this should work on Vista (even in C:\Program Files)
and I really don't want to have to track down the correct folder for each installation.

OK, I implemented the change to write the debug file to the program directory. New version on the site. Would a few D users give it a try? I have a changed 'read' routine that should be better.
Unfortunately, I can't do any testing at the moment. The shop I get my test units from is sold out till after newyear.
