BSOD damaged my logbook...

Post by Mjorud »

Hi all...

I was logging the last dives today and while doing so I got a blue screen of death. After a reboot I tried to open my logbook again and got

Error: 3197
The Microsoft Jet database enginge stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time.

I click OK and receive

Divelog.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I do have a backup but thats over 20 dives ago... Is there a way to save my logbook?

It's OK, Sven.

Opened up the file in MS Access and made a backup and now everything works like a charm. :)

Thank you.

And THAT, folks, is a classic example of why it is so important that DL stick with a simple database engine like Access that allows you independent access to your data rather than something like MSSQL.
