Xp versus Vista viewing problems

Post by Abyssdiver »

Hello Sven,

I have divinglog ( the program) installed both on a desktop pc with Vista and on a laptop with Xp proffesional. My data such as my logbook and logsheets (crd) and pictures, drawing of divingplaces etc, are kept on a usb stick.
So if i start the program on either pc i get my logbook and all the other info from the USB stick.
This works well because i use always the same path for pictures etc.
One problem though: if i save pictures in the logbook on the XP laptop and afterwoods i put the usb stick in the vista pc, i cannot see the pictures.
This also goes vice versa; some pictures saved on the vista pc is not visible on the xp laptop ? This is only for puctures etc. Data such as new entry's and logsheets are no problem.
How can i solve this problem ?

Many thanks in advance

The problem seems to be, that the USB stick gets another drive letter on your Vista computer. So on both computers the path to the pictures must be identical, including the drive letter. You can change the drive letter after connecting your USB stick and then open the disk manager tool:

1. Press Win+R to open the run box
2. Type in diskmgmt.msc and click OK
3. Press the Continue button if you need to grant permission
4. Right-click on the USB stick drive
