Difference between Diving Log and Dive Computer

Post by h00etn » Fri Jan 01, 2016 08:33

What is the difference between calculations done between the "Diving Log" versus the "Dive computer" functions in the Dekober?

I dive with the Poseidon MkVI and from it's on dive manager, I can't get the actual CNS and OTU. Therefore I would like to know if the "Dive computer" function is using the dive computers calculations or what it does compared to the "Diving Log"

Hi

No, I'm not using any dive computer deco algorithms, they are usually proprietary and not public. I'm using a standard Bühlmann algorithm to re-calculate the dive based on the profile data and it's the same for all dives in Diving Log, independent from the dive computer. It will be defenitely different from what your dive computer displayed during the dive. You can switch back and forth between dive computer data and what Diving Log calculates to compare the values. You can read more about that here:

Kind regards,
