I have an original Suunto Vyper.
It is connected to the computer by a SERIAL interface cable (not a USB interface cable).
I am unable to download dives from it. I get the following error message.
Suunto XML Error:9999
And the following error file

Download problem with Suunto Vyper
Re: Download problem with Suunto Vyper
Ha .... Found it - need to run Diving Log as an administrator.
Re: Download problem with Suunto Vyper
Strange, it should also work as normal user. Have you tried the "Universal Downloader" instead of the Suunto Downloader?
Re: Download problem with Suunto Vyper
I was able to download the Vyper using the Suunto programs
Dive Manager
and
Suunto DM5
I then tried directly downloading the Suunto using the option in Diving Log 5.0, but was unsuccessfull.
(Which is where the above error message came from.) Having noted that the error message said;
Run as administrator: False
I then opened Diving Log 5.0 as an administrator and had no problem using the download option.

Re: Download problem with Suunto Vyper
Hi Gareth
In Diving Log there is also a generic downloader, called "Universal Downloader" with a blue arrow icon. I think this one should be working without running Diving Log as administrator.
Kind regards,
Sven

Sven
The universal downloader worked OK in normal mode (not as administrator). I will use this in future.
Thanks
