Re: COM ports
I did notice with the MemComp utility that the Suunto USB cable had to be inserted and recognized before starting D9MemComp or it didn't appear. That is correct. The downloader uses a third party comm port component. That component 'enumerates' (checks what's available) the ports at startup only. I...

It seems the dive 'header' is of a variable length Not fixed as was first thought. If you would like to help here's how: What I need...

OK, SI is understood. I'm in favor of supporting all three unit types in dcdml, that way the dive log implementor has the option of choosing which units he wants. I've easily supported all three types in my downloader, with the selection set from a commandline switch. To answer your question: Is the...

Units. . your explanation explains it completely :) In <dcdml/> it represents generator output and in <settings/> the computer setting. I think that all computers at the moment use only 1/10 of meters, the depth value as any numeric could be double in format xx.yyy where . and yyy are optional. Dro...

Otherwise hang in there, I took the D9 I'd borrowed back to the LDS tonight. I wanted to borrow the Cobra2 they have but the owner wasn...

Well, if you pass a Unicode string to an app that expects an 8 bit character you have problems, so unicode does matter. The downloader builds an XML file as it's output. Where it puts that file is determined by a command line switch passed by the parent program. If you don't specify that switch, the...

Re: Suunto USB and Vista
James, I've downloaded the latest version of your Suunto Downloader, it fails to run, complaining about absent XML file, any idea? Take a look in " C:\ ". Is there a file there named "SuuntoDownload.xml" ?? If so, then the problem is in the fact that I'm an old American. I think...
