Re: Syncing with iPhone: TCP error

Oh, regarding your P.S. ... you're right that the 3G indication will stay on when you are using an AdHoc WiFi network ... you'll probably notice that the WiFi icon does eventually show up sometimes. It doesn't always show up, but when it does it can often take quite a while. I have no idea why this ...

Re: Syncing with iPhone: TCP error

Hi Martin, I'm glad to hear that the AdHoc setup worked okay. Sorry I missed your most recent post before I wrote my last post ... so you can pretty much ignore that one :-)! I imagine that your router probably has some security setting that is causing the difficulty. There are certainly lots of dif...

Re: Syncing with iPhone: TCP error

I did have a nice trip, thanks! It does look like the WiFi connection is going away on you. This can also happen if the iPhone screen goes blank (i.e. the iPhone goes to sleep) as it will drop the WiFi connection at that time as a power saving mechanism. So it is possible that the phone went to slee...

Re: Syncing with iPhone: TCP error

This is certainly a strange connection issue. The fact that it worked one time and then not again with the same settings does point to some sort of an issue with the basic network connection. There are two things in play here. The first is the rendezvous (or zero-admin configuration) using Bonjour a...

Re: Sorting dive entries on iphone

Hi Kyle, Thanks for your kind words about Dive Log on iPhone. I'm sorry to report that I don't currently have a good answer for your situation. As you have discovered, Dive Log on iPhone sorts it's dives based on the dive number. I have always planned to add two features to the app that would help w...

Re: Wrong total divetime

Just a quick update. Dive Log 1.1.4 for iPhone was recently approved by Apple and made available for download via iTunes or the App Store on your iPhone/iPod touch. This release contains a new setting that allows you to view Total Dive Time in either the original Days:Hours:Minutes format or as just...

Re: New development blog

Hi, I just wanted to underscore Sven's comments a little bit. By using the new importers that allow you to "merge" the data that you got from the iPhone and the data that you import from your dive computer (or SmartTrak) should solve the issue of you loosing the "linked" informat...

Re: New development blog

Hi Niels, Thank you for your input. I will keep your thoughts in mind as I move forward with the development. One quick note, the "flag" image does not need to be a picture of a "flag". It will be a general image that you could put any picture from the photo library or a photo fr...

Re: New development blog

Hi Niels, The current version of Dive Log on iPhone (1.1.3) does have some minimal support for capturing and using images. In the current version this is limited to images of your certification cards (More->Personal->Certifications) and images of Buddies that are linked contacts on your iPhone (via ...

Re: Wrong total divetime

Hi Dave, Thanks for your feedback on Dive Log on iPhone's display of total dive time. It seems that there are two schools of thought on this subject. Those with very large number of dives tend to prefer that the total dive time be displayed in Days, Hours, Minutes where other prefer that it just be ...

Re: Location info on iPhone from Imported DL logs?

Final issue (much less important): Probably not possible due to my multi-step workflow, but is there anyway to keep the iPhone buddies list linked to the address book contacts after the import? I suspect they are maintained on the Mac side, since the iPhone and Mac both share an address book and co...

Re: Location info on iPhone from Imported DL logs?

Hi, Thanks for sharing your experiences with Dive Log on iPhone and Diving Log 4.0. I'm the developer of Dive Log on iPhone and I'll try to address some of your issues. Sven, the developer of Diving Log 4.0 is also planning to post and address your issues as well from the Diving Log 4.0 point of vie...

Re: Iphone not syncing

Just a quick note for other readers of this thread. It turns out that the issue was caused by a problem with the iPhone's WiFi connection to the router being unstable (it would go down during network operations). The user was able to adjust his network configuration so that the WiFi connection is no...

Re: Iphone Sync problems

Dive Log 1.1.2 was just approved by Apple for release to the App Store. This version avoids the problems caused by 12 vs 24 hour time settings on the iPhone in some regions (UK, Spain, Colombia are some examples). This version will also fix any databases that have been corrupted by this bug. The dat...

Re: Problem: Dive info becomes incorrect upon sync w/ iphone

I just wanted to add a little information to Sven's response to this issue. The first issue in the original post is fully explained by the problem that Sven outlined. Regarding the second issue (syncing back to the iPhone), I'll need to try some experiments to see if I can reproduce the problem. Whe...
