Re: Suggestions - Global Lookups

I would love to have an Import/Export for these lookups. XML would be great so as to allow you to modify in a text editor if desired. Here's how I envision it: Import/Export Lookups dialog radio buttons to select Import or Export checkboxes for each lookup (country, dive site, buddy, etc) with a mas...

Re: Suggestions - Global Lookups

How about just the ability to Export and Import these lookups manually from an XML file? This would solve his root problem which is having to create data 4 times. He could create his lists, export to xml, then import into his other logbooks. It would also allow people to share community-sourced look...

Re: how to convert 5.0 layout (.xml) files to 6.0 (.lay)?

Here is something odd. Not sure if you want to call it an issue or bug. So the reason I was looking for a way to add margins or padding was because I didn't like the fields/controls all being jammed up tight next to each other. Turns out that only happens when oppening a layout from the Layout tab, ...

Re: how to convert 5.0 layout (.xml) files to 6.0 (.lay)?

Thanks, I had found that but wasn't positive it was applicable. Either that extension is real buggy, your app uses a partial implementation, or I'm just plain stupid because the simplest items just don't work. If I try to add a label inside a LayoutGroup using this format <LayoutItem Label="Item A" ...

Re: how to convert 5.0 layout (.xml) files to 6.0 (.lay)?

Can you give us a link to this third party component so we can get documentation on it? I'm trying to recreate (and improve) my 5.0 custom layouts and having a ton of questions.

Re: Can we get logbook filter modified in next version?

FYI, quick and easy way to find divetype id is to open the mdb (I use freeware MDB Viewer Plus) and look at the DiveType table. All the ID and TypeName values right there. Most people don't add or edit dive types very often once they get set up so just take a screenshot and save it.

Re: Customize Logbook Fields

Marine life yields, yes. High on my wishlist. In the meantime, how does this sound as an alternative. I'm thinking use the Equipment capabilities to add items for fish species. I could prefix them with an "_" to keep together, add items as I encounter them, then in my logbook would only need check t...

Re: Template problem

I don't think there is a bug here but it sure would be easier to use Templates if you didn't have to check all the fields every time you create a template. I like to create templates based on my most common dive types/sites. For example, an summer ocean boat dive, a summer shore dive, a winter sprin...

Re: Crashes on Statistics - Overall Month

Never mind, based on the error message I took a look through my dives and found the first one did not have the date filled out. You just need to handle this error.

Crashes on Statistics - Overall Month

All other statistics reports work. Year, Month, and Day parameters describe an un-representable DateTime. at System.DateTime.DateToTicks(Int32 year, Int32 month, Int32 day) at Divinglog.Statistics.Charts.GenChartMonthOverall() at Divinglog.frmStatistics.lstNav_SelectionChanged(Object sender, Selecti...

Re: Dive Site < City/Island < Country data structure

I agree with kritta but understand the pitfalls of applying the complexity and rigidness of linked relationships to existing logs and large userbase. But I think it could be done cheaply by applying it as a data entry aid rather than a fixed linked. I'm seeing an option i.e. "Populate associated fie...

Re: Adjusting column layout in Table mode

Column widths would essentially solve the problem. Especially if one could "hide" the column with a width of zero.

Adjusting column layout in Table mode

Edit mode in the Table layout makes it easier to change large amounts of data, useful in catching up many logged dives. But there are so many columns that it requires several horizontal scrolls and it is hard to see what dives are being edited since the dive number and location scrolls away. In most...
