Download dives via bluetooth - Android
Download dives via bluetooth - Android
Will there be an in app option to download dives directly from the dive computers like Shearwater Petrel and Perdix using Bluetooth ?
Re: Download dives via bluetooth - Android
Hi
Yes, I will try to add download capabilities in the future, but I can't promise when this will be possible for a specific dive computer model.
Kind regards,
Sven

Hello Sven
If there are testers needed somewhen, let me know.
Android-Phone (Google Pixel) and a Shearwater Perdix are ready.
Direct download from computers into the app would be a really great extension.

Sven,
You've probably thought about this, but for Shearwater computers, an interim step might be to be able to import from the Shearwater Cloud app or maybe however it is that it saves into the cloud. I don't know how protective they are of the info/file formats, but from what I understand, they are open source friendly in general.

Re: Download dives via bluetooth - Android
Smartphone apps are usually isolated from each other and cannot easily access the data from other apps. I have an import from DiveMate on Android, so if someone really wants to download the dives directly, they can do this via DiveMate and import into the Diving Log Android app.

Hi Sven, any update on the bluetooth for the Perdix?
I can see the option in the donwloader, but I have to set up a com port? This does not seem to be possible with the perdix bluetooth adapter.

Sorry, previous message belongs to the "General"chapter.
Re: Download dives via bluetooth - Android
One the PC, it depends on the exact Perdix version. If it is an Perdix AI with Bluetooth LE, it cannot be downloaded with Diving Log on the PC. If it is an older Perdix with classic Bluetooth, virtual COM ports are created by Windows, which can be used by Diving Log. It is planned to support also Bluetooth LE on the desktop, but this is also not so easy.

Thanks, it is a Perdix non-AI but with bluetooth LE. Latest versions are also shipped with Bluetooth LE.
