Lat and Lon Format

Post by lloyd_borrett »

G'day,

I'm having trouble trying to display the Lat and Lon values exported by MySQL Dump.

The value 144°2'0.54"E when exported by MySQL Dump and loaded into a database, becomes 144°20.54"E when returned by MySQL.

A character by character breakdown gives.

Result:
0 1 49
1 4 52
2 4 52
3 Â 194
4 ° 176
5 2 50
6 0 48
7 . 46
8 5 53
9 4 52
10 " 34
11 E 69

Just how should I be interpreting this so that I can display it via HTML.?

Best Regards, Lloyd Borrett.

Hi Lloyd

Ah, you're right. The problem is that the minute symbol (') of the coordinates is also a seperator in the mysql dump file. So I must use another format when exporting the coordinates. I think I'll use the same format as in the Google Earth export files.

Kind regards,
Sven
