Scubapro G2 on Bluegiga BT LE

Post by pinnagialla »

I have tried to find a way to connect my Scubapro G2 on Bluegiga BT LE (official supported bluetooth dongle).

It's seen from Windows 10 as COM3 and it works perfectly on SCUBAPRO LogTRAK.

Can you help me?

Hi

Bluetooth LE isn't using COM ports and is unfortunately not supported at the moment in Diving Log 6.0. However you can connect the G2 via USB which is supported and working.

Kind regards,

I can assure the officially supported BT dongle (Bluegiga) creates a COM3 port. I am using it with LogTrak. :D

This is possible, because most bluetooth dongles support both classic Bluetooth (with virtual COM ports) and the newer Bluetooth LE. So the dongle creates a virtual COM port, but LogTrak and the G2 is using Bluetooth LE, and the COM port is not used for this even though it is created by the driver.

Bluetooth LE is a completely different protocol, which is not working on Windows 7 for example. I want to add Bluetooth LE support in the future for Diving Log, you can use USB for the meantime.
