Suunto EON Steel crashes DL6

Post by garyw90 »

Hello,
I just acquired the Suunto EON Steel. The first time I tried to download the dives, the software crashed. When I restarted DL6, I clicked on advanced in the downloader and discovered the link where you describe how to change the driver.

So I ran the Zadig tool, and changed the driver to libusbK as instructed. DL6 still crashed. Tried WinUSB. Still crashed. The Suunto DM5 software can no longer find the device as expected.

What can I do to help diagnose this problem?

I have determined that the problem was in libdivecomputer, because I was trying to connect to the computer before I had any dives on it. I was just trying to verify connectivity. With help from Jef, I verified that a slightly modified libdivecomputer works with Diving Log.

Hi

I'm sorry for the late response, somehow I've missed this thread. I'm glad to hear it works now! If you want to use Suunto DM5 to access the device, you have to switch the Zadig driver back to the original one, then it should find the device again.

Kind regards,
Sven
